Healthshifts provides an easy and professional way to manage applications, including notifying applicants of their application status.
Below is a step-by-step guide to rejecting an application and ensuring the applicant is notified appropriately.
Steps to reject an applicant
1. Log in to Your Healthshifts Profile
2. Navigate to the Job Board by selecting the ‘Job Board’ icon located at the bottom of the page.
3. Access the Job’s Applicants
Find the job required and click on the yellow ‘Applicant(s)’ text box on the right-hand side of the job listing.
4. Select the Applicant
Locate the applicant you wish to reject. Click the three dots to the right-hand side of their name.
5. Categorise the Applicant
From the pop-up menu, select ‘Categorise’.
Choose ‘Unsuccessful’ from the available options.
6. Confirm the Status Update
You will be prompted to confirm the change. Select ‘Update’ to proceed.
Notifying the applicant
7. Return to the Applicant List
After updating the status, you’ll be taken back to the list of applicants.
8. Click the three dots next to the applicant’s name again and select ‘Notify Applicant(s)’ from the pop-up menu.
9. Review the Notification Template
A pop-up window will appear with a default notification template. Review the message and make any necessary changes if required to make it more personal.
10. Send the Notification
Click ‘Notify’ to send the message.
11. Confirm the Notification
A prompt will ask you to confirm the action. Select ‘Notify’ to finalise.

The applicant will receive a notification about the changes to their application status, ensuring they’re informed in a timely and professional manner.
